How to Delete YouTube History

How to Delete YouTube History (Desktop and Mobile)

For many of us, watching movies and videos on YouTube is a beloved pastime. It has millions of videos in many categories, such as songs, TV series, documentaries, and films, which you can watch on any device with an internet connection.

Search for a video, then filter the results to remove irrelevant links before watching. It’s like having a portable movie theater on your phone. But did you realize that YouTube keeps track of everything you do?

It has a list of watched videos, search history, and left comments, among other things. Google remembers these details in order to suggest similar films that you might enjoy, offer tailored advertisements, give reminders about videos you’ve only watched part of, and more. As a result, you may find movies quickly that match your past browsing history, saving you time.

Anyone who views your YouTube account, on the other hand, will receive a clear image of your hobbies and interests. They’ll figure out what you’re up to on the video hosting site and what kinds of videos you’re watching.

Is it something you desire to happen?

Keep track of your YouTube history and delete it on a regular basis. Today, we’ll show you how to clear your YouTube history on both your computer and your mobile device.

Delete YouTube History (Desktop)

In a few simple steps, Google allows you to control your activity and delete your history from the YouTube home page. It’s also possible to prohibit YouTube from tracking your browsing habits, but this may have an impact on your tailored experiences across devices using the same Google account.

On a computer, go to https://www.youtube.com and sign in with your account. From the upper left corner of the screen, tap the three lines icon.

Watch history, search history, comments, community, and live chat are just a few of the areas in which YouTube organizes its history.

To remove your history, hover your mouse over a video link or a search phrase. To delete them all at once, go to the Clear all watch history link. To confirm your request, a popup will display overlaid on the main screen. To confirm, select the Clear watch history option once more.

Done.

An empty list will appear on the history page. Carry out the same procedure for the search history. To stop YouTube from recording your future activity, click the Pause watch history link.

Delete YouTube History by Last Hour, Date, and Custom Period

To search and remove your YouTube history by date, last hour, last day, or within a custom range, go to the Manage all activity option on the same page.

From the left pane of your screen, select ‘Delete activity by.’ To erase activity by the last hour, last day, always, or within a defined range, a pop-up box will appear.

Select a period and press the Delete button once more.

That is all there is to it.

During the specified time period, all of your YouTube actions will be removed.

How to Automatically Delete YouTube History?

To set up an automated deletion timetable for your YouTube history, go to ‘Set up automatic deletions.’

YouTube has three options for deleting history: manually, every three months, and every 18 months. Choose an option and then click Next.

Confirm your changes by clicking OK to save them. After that, you won’t have to worry about YouTube history because it will be removed automatically according to the schedule you specified.

Delete YouTube history (iOS & Android)

On YouTube, iPhone and Android cellphones have identical options. Deletion will delete all of your YouTube watch and search history across all of your devices that are signed in with the same account.

First, go to YouTube on your phone. From the top-right corner of the screen, tap your profile image and select ‘Settings’ from the menu.

From the Settings panel, select ‘History and Privacy.’

To delete your relevant actions from your account, tap Clear history. To confirm, a pop-up box will appear, and you must click on the Clear history option once more.

To delete both your watch and your search history, follow the same steps. To stop YouTube from recording your future activity, drag the toggle button to the right.
