Unfortunately, folks who remark on your blog postings sign up for days of email alerts, as everyone you know also comments. It discourages commenting more than anything else.

However, there are ways to remark without being overwhelmed with notifications. You might, for instance, go to the Notifications section of your account’s settings to determine when you want to get alerts and when you don’t.

To delete notifications on Facebook on desktop, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account.
  2. Click on the bell icon in the top right corner of the screen to open the notifications menu.
  3. Hover your cursor over the notification you wish to delete.
  4. Click on the “X” that appears on the right side of the notification.
  5. The notification will be removed from the list.

Alternatively, you can also mark all notifications as read and clear the notification history by clicking the “Mark All As Read” button in the top right corner of the notifications menu and then clicking on the “Clear Notifications” button.

How to delete notifications on Facebook on mobile

To delete notifications on Facebook on mobile, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Facebook app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Select “Notifications” from the menu that appears.
  4. Swipe left on the notification you want to delete.
  5. Tap the trash can icon that appears.
  6. Confirm that you want to delete the notification by tapping “Delete”
